Article 2. How my writing has changed?

How my writing has changed? Our class of academic writings soon will end. It’s has been a really worthy work that has taught me a lot, I’ve gained some experience, definitely enriched my vocabulary and done hips of exercises. Therefore, it’s a high time to give a synopsis of what has altered throughout the year. In addition to it, I’d like to tell why it is important to have sublime skills of writing.  These days it goes without saying that it’s a crucial thing to have fairly good skills of writing. Why? Because from the cradle to the grave we are to produce our thoughts and these notions can manifest in verbal or writing format. We will write all our life, from small papers like messages to the more complicated ones like theses. Thus, it is important to have this kind of class by virtue of it helps us not only to express our feelings and thoughts on paper but also to be comprehended by others and that is what we all are seeking.  My previous essay can provide an apt backdrop how my w

Article 1. Polyphasic Sleep

Polyphasic sleep I t is a conventional wisdom that we all should sleep as it helps us to recover our body from a long exhausting day or get things memorised in the brain , recall that if you study long for your exam the night before, the next day you probably remember it better. People who don't get enough sleep are at a higher risk for high heart disease, diabetes, obesity. Psychologically, people are at a much higher risk for anxiety and depression. We all know that when you are sleep-deprived, you lose focus, you lose the ability to pay attention. In the nutshell, sleep is a very substantial thing for us. The standard for most adults is a 7-9 hour monophasic sleep , monophasic means that you go to sleep at night and wake up only in the morning. But it wasn’t always like that, our ancestor has actually poly (or even more) phasic sleep. It was divided into several phases, thus you wake several times and go to sleep once more. For instance from 11:00 pm you sleep till 3:00

Text vs Voice Messages

I can't help but agree that nowadays it is crucial to be in touch with others via the Internet. There are a variety of different methods of communications using net such services as videochat, voicecall, email, audio massages and just regular messages. As text and voice messages are the most usable ones it is important to see the pros and cons of each because everyone sooner or later will deal with them.      Some people think it is more convenient to send voice messages. Firstly, it is obviously faster to speak than to type,  the average person speaks approximately 100 – 130 words per minute{1} and  the average person types between 38 and 40 words per minute. {2} Secondly, it is quicker to listen to messages than to read it. Moreover, another thing is that it is actually safer to send your voice instead of text while driving as you still pay your attention to the road but not to the screen of your phone. In addition to it, sending voice is for sure easier because you do n

Eleven Steps

A woman in her early forties, who can be quite wise. A man in his sixties. The story begins in a remote cottage. Someone is kidnapped. It's a story about hatred. Your character takes control of the situation   The last sun beams lightened the hallway as Flora grabbed her car keys. She had a long way home ahead - the previous time Flora came to her remote sanctuary it took her about two hours by car. She didn't expect to be this overloaded with job, so setting out this late meant that she wouldn't see her daughter tonight. Little Keira had her own schedule, thus her grandma would sing her to sleep strictly at 10 p.m. Pity, but at least they'd definitely have breakfast together.    Flora commonly visited her cottage when she needed space and concentration for her work. Street rumpus wasn't very helpful for writing. Driving away she glanced at her small wooden house in the rear view mirror. She loved that place and for some reason didn't want to go. As if the fee

Youtube clip

YouTube is a site where you can find thousands of videos, some of them could be educational some of them couldn't. This video gives us a sence that everybody has an opportunity to achieve anything. How? It is your grit! The grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals.Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day in, day out,not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years, and working really hard to make that future a reality.       Angela Lee Duckworth, who is the speaker of this video, gives us one of the examples. She asked thousands of high school juniors to take grit questionnaires to see who would graduate and it turned out that grittier kids were significantly more likely to graduate. Even when she matched them on every characteristic Angela Lee could measure like family income, standart IQ tests and how safe kids felt at school.       After you've watched the video, I'd like you to answer some questio

EDUCATED: A MEMOIR BY TARA WESTOVER

For  my English reading class I have chosen a book which is called ' Educated: a memoir' , which was written by Tara Westover.                Actually, I have chosen this very book because it was recommended by Bill Gates in his  blog . I was hooked by this very phrase   Bill: ‘I thought I was pretty good at teaching myself—until I read Tara Westover’s memoir Educated. Her ability to learn on her own blows mine right out of the water.’    As we can see on the book cover there's a pencil which is symbolised education and in this pencil there's a mountain, to my mind, it refers to both 2 things, firstly the mountain shows how hard is to be educated yourself (one of the themes in this book) and secondly, the author pays a lot of attention to mountains and nature itself, where the main character (=author) was raised.         The issue of liberal education is one of the main ones in this book. Tara: ‘Everything I had worked for, all my years of study, had been t

It's time to take actions

The climate change is one of the hottest issue nowadays. The renowned ecoactivist Greta Thunberg, the youngest ever recipient of the magazine "Time" person of the year, once said "I want you to act as if the house is on fire, because it is". Everyday millions of factories produce tons of CO2 emissions. Streets are filled with vehicles, that our traffic system can't deal with. Plastic-made things in the ocean, forest and microplastic (output of plastic) is even in our bodies. It can't but concern people over the world, thus, all things considered, there are ways that we can personally follow to improve the global situation           First thing to make our future brighter is to stop using plastic bags. Today supermarkets are giving away bags for free and it is not right, since they cost no money you are more likely to get bunch of them. You can easily supersede them with cotton ones which can be carried in your backpack. They are more environmental fr
